Being STRONG in CHANGING TIMES

Joshua 1:1, After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: 2 “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.

The Church is not always willing to shift into new seasons as Holy Spirit moves us from glory to glory.

1. Promise of God’s Provision

Joshua 1:3, Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.”

Philippians 3:20, But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.

Galatians 3:29, And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

2. God’s Requirement

(1) Be strong and of good courage.

Joshua 1:6Be strong and of good courage for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.”

(2.) Lean Heavily on His Word

Joshua 1:7 - 8, Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

(3.) Obey the Word

Joshua 1:8; ESV, “So that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

Jesus is being challenged by the Pharisees.

John 8:37, “You are trying to kill me, because my word has no place in you.”

What it literally says in the Greek is, “You’re trying to kill me, because My word is making no progress in you.”

(4.) Speak faith

Joshua 1:8, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth.

Mark 11:22-23 KJV, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”

Don't talk about things the way they were.

Don't let "the way it was" dominate your mind.

This is not just "positive thinking"—it is God's power.

(5.) Prayer and Worship

Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,And He shall direct your paths.

“Acknowledge” Hebrew is “yadah”. Number one word in the Bible for “intimate knowledge”,

Proverbs 3:5-6; TPT, “Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.

3. The Promise

God’s purpose is that you and I lay hold of promises in the midst of Disruption.

Joshua 1:6, “To this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to give them.”

The promise is that we can help others to their inheritance. By this I mean Salvation. The Harvest of Souls.

I hope you were blessed by this message.
