Jude 1:20-21 NLT ,You Dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, 21 and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.
1. Your Personal Authority In Christ Jesus
Jude 1:20-21 KJV, Beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
20 TPT, Constantly and progressively build yourselves up on the foundation of your most holy faith. (TPT)
Jude is giving us some practical things each can do, Anywhere, Anytime in Any Circumstance. Especially during times of uncertainty.
Matthew 16:19 TPT, “I will give you the keys of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that which is forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which is released in heaven.”
Hebrews 12:12-13, So take a new grip with your tired hands and stand firm on your shaky legs.
Another translation of verse20 says, “But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith.”
That is refering to community. As member of body of Christ, the family of God.
the household of faith, we are ll responsible to "build each other up."
Philippians 2:4, Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
This is a challenge today with online church services and groups. The are good, necessary and we are thankful for the opportunity. The Church is God's Assembly. Where two or three gather in His name, Jesus is there. We can participate online but we also need to meet together in person with others.
2. Faith is the FOUNDATION
Roman 10:127, So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Just as I must take care of my physical body, eating the right food, exercise, rest, and so forth. I must also take care of my spiritual person by being daily in the Word, praying, and speaking the Word of God.
3. Praying in the Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 14:14, “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays.”
Romans 8:26 NLT, “The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.”
4. Keep yourselves in the love of God
If you see God any other way but love you open yourself up to be attacked. There are many forces that want to snatch you out of God’s Love. The devils’ goal is to get you to doubt and to question God's love.
God loves you and because He loves you. He wants to bless you.
Romans 8:38, 39, NKJV, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
5. Always looking for the mercy
Verse 21, “Looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”
6. Keeping an eternal life Perspective
It is the eternal perspective that must be our natigating point in life. Living for the eternal helps keep us on course.
Not matter what happens you can keep yourself safe in the love of God.
Until He returns,
Larry
