Here are the Scriptures we are reading in the video devotional today.
1 Corinthians 11:23, 26: For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
The great preacher F. B. Meyer once asked evangelist D. L. Moody, “What is the secret of your success?” Moody replied, “For many years I have never given a sermon without the consciousness that the Lord may come before I have finished.”
Every time we share communion together we are reminded of: His physical death, His body broken to save us, His blood that was shed to pay for our sin – ‘until he comes’,
Our confident hope that He is coming back.
Three Things to think about today:
1. I’m Going Away
Acts 1:11, They said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing here staring at the sky? Jesus has been taken away from you into heaven. And someday, just as you saw him go, he will return!”
2. I’m Preparing a Place for you
John 14:1, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.
3. I’m Coming back
“And someday, just as you saw him go, he will return!“
2 Peter 3:3-4 NLV, I want you to know that in the last days men will laugh at the truth. They will follow their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, “He promised to come again. Where is He? Since our early fathers died, everything is the same from the beginning of the world.”
