To be prepared for the next year we need to understand eternal truths that never change to hold on to.
“Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 “and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 “For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 “But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come” (Mark 4:26-29, NKJV).
None of us know what is going to happen in the next year. We do know that things don’t always go the way we want them to go.
To be prepared for the next year we need eternal truth that never change, to hold on to.
1. God does not change.
Malachi 3:6, “I am the Lord, and I do not change.
Hebrews 13:8, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Psalm 86:15, But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23, The faithful love of the Lord never ends![His mercies never cease. 23 Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.
Colossians 1:15-17 NLT, Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, 16 for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. 17 He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.
2. The Word of God does not change.
Psalm 138:2 NKJV, For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
Matthew 24:35 NKJV, Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Matthew 4:4 NKJV, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
1 Timothy 3:15, “I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”
Matthew 7:24-27 ESV, “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
3. Faith in God does not change.
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV, Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
1 John 5:4, “…This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
Colossians 2:7 Have your roots planted deep in Christ. Grow in Him. Get your strength from Him. Let Him make you strong in the faith as you have been taught.
4. Obedience to God does not Change.
Hebrews 11:7, “It was by faith that Noah built an ark to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God who warned him about something that had never happened before.”
5. The Church does not Change.
Hebrews 10:25 (KJV), “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together….”
Assembling is nonnegotiable.
Psalm 92:13, “Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God” (NKJV).
Flourishing in every area of your life begins with being planted in His house—His church.
6. Giving to receive does not Change.
Mark 4:26, NKJV “He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground,
Hebrews 11:4, By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.
He gave an offering in faith.
You must always give in faith.
Hebrews 12:28, “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”
DO OUR PART . . . .
Unshakable in our faith,
Unshakable in our commitment to the Lord,
Unshakable to one another.
Have a great 2021
