We ahre in Jerusalem. Today is the 3rd day for the conflict. The city of Jerusalem is shut down. It's like New Years day in the USA. Shops, restaurants, businesses all closed. Very few people on the streets. Is this a prophetic time? Is God at work today? I ave a few thoughts and scriptures for you in this video.

October 9, 2023
3rd day of the war
Janet and I along with Adam and Carrie Friedrich are in Jerusalem. We arrived a few days before Israel was attacked.
It is Monday, 9 October here. So this is the beginning of the third day. Yesterday Jerusalem was shut down. Very few people were on the streets. Businesses were closed. It was difficult to find a restaurant to eat. We finally brought food to our apartment.
I believe Jerusalem is the safest place to be in Israel at this time. There is tension. I think the main concern in the city is terrorists who may be just waiting for timing or opportunity to attack people.
Israel’s 9-11
Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has declared his country to be heading into “a long and grueling war.” He said this is Israel’s 9-11. Of course referring to the attacks upon USA September 11, 2001. He also referred to their Pearl Harbor.
I believe these may be prophetic statements.
We all know that when America was attacked on 9-11, war was declared. America went after Iraq and the terrorists anywhere in the world. Many nations of the world condemned America for the aggressiveness of the response. Of course, when America was attacked at Pearl Harbor in 1941 they entered WWII.
Is Israel saying that they are going to finish this? That they are going after the source? We can feel the tension here that this nation is tired of being attacked.
I believe that is what the Prime Minister is saying referring to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor.
Here is a few quotes from an Atlantic Magazine article today:
“The Iranian regime has shown resolute support for the attacks. It organized fireworks celebrations in Tehran’s Palestine Square. Members of parliament shouted “Death to Israel” in the Majlis. . . .Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, spoke in no uncertain terms: ‘We support this operation, congratulate Palestinian fighters on it, and are sure that the Axis of Resistance will back it too . . .This victorious operation will surely facilitate and accelerate the collapse of the Zionist regime.’”

Quoting the Atlantic article again, “Senior members of Hamas and Hezbollah have suggested that IRGC officials gave the green light for the assault at a meeting in Beirut last Monday. The operation, whatever its details, must have taken months of preparation, and Hamas would almost certainly not simply surprise Tehran with something on this scale. Some coordination seems the very minimum.”
What may happen if Israel does respond like America did at 9-11? If they say, “Enough is enough”?
Is this Prophetic? Yes, it is!
Israel was totally “blindsided.” How could that happen? Just as America was blindsided when attacked on 9-11. How did that happen? How were both of these nations totally “blindsided”?
For months the information coming from the Middle East appeared to be headed toward more diplomatic reconciliation among Arab nations and toward Israel. Then this?
“While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3 ESV).
The truth is, Israel’s defense is not their military, their intelligence agencies, or their political strength. Their Protector is the God of Israel. It always has been and is today. So then, why the “blindside”?
“Ah, stubborn children,” declares the Lord, “who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin; who set out to go down to Egypt, without asking for my direction, to take refuge in the protection of Pharaoh and to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt! Therefore shall the protection of Pharaoh turn to your shame, and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt to your humiliation” (Isaiah 30:1-3 ESV).
“Egypt’s help is worthless and empty” (Isaiah 30:7 ESV).
God must have lifted His hand of protection to teach them that Egypt and Pharaoh was not their protector or shelter.
Why was America blindsided at 9-11? God lifted His hand of protection off of America. Why? Repentance! God wanted America to repent. America kinda did, for a few days.
Salvation is what God is about.
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance” (2 Peter 3:9 ESV).
The only reason I can think of why God would lift His hand of protection for a time off of Israel is because somehow it will draw them toward salvation.
“Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will also be against Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it. (Zachariah 12:2-3 ESV).
The hand of God’s protection was lifted in the book of Zachariah.
“On that day the Lord will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the angel of the Lord, going before them. And on that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem” (Zachariah 12:8-9 ESV).
Then we see things turn around and God intervening on behalf of Jerusalem.
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourn for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weep over a firstborn" (Zachariah 12:10 ESV).
Here we see Israel receiving a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy. Hallelujah!
A similar prophecy is in Isaiah.
“Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you” Isaiah 30:18-19 ESV).
All the dealing and intervention of God in the affairs of Israel and all the earth is for redemption.
The devil wants to start WWIII
The devil always tries to intercept God’s plan. He wants to start WWII. Why? A great war would be to circumvent the prophecies of the great end-time harvest of souls. What does the devil come to do? “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10).
God has an End Time Harvest of Generations planned. Salvation, Redemption, Souls being saved. OH! Friends, let's pray toward that end today. Join together in Prayer for ISRAEL and for GOD'S great Harvest of Generations.
