I first want to send my condolences to the families and loved ones of journalists Alison Parker and Adam Ward. Our prayers are with you during this very tragic time in your lives.
We live in a world that is fallen and broken and filled with way to many tragedies like this. This is a world where sowing and reaping has consequences, where brokenness, hurt and sin results in more brokenness, hurt and pain. Many people are giving prophecies that events like this are pointing toward the doom of America and the judgement that is here or that is coming.
We are living during a time the Bible calls, “The last days.”
“You should also know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times” (2 Timothy 3:1, NLT). Yes, we are experiencing these “difficult times” but the Bible does not stop there. Throughout history, difficult times have often led to times of healing and spiritual renewal.
The senseless killing of Allison and Adam and many other similar tragedies has shocked and saddened our nation. Let’s look again to God for his help, joining together in prayer for his grace and mercy upon each of us and looking in faith for a new spiritual awaken.
There is HOPE – in the promises of God through Jesus Christ.
On the Cross of Calvary Jesus carried all the Judgement of God for our sins. I am believing for spiritual awakening in America and the world. I declare that a harvest of souls is coming out of the tragedies we see happening. When I read the Bible I see that Satan, evil and wickedness does not win. God, through Jesus Christ is redeeming this broken and fallen world.
I know a dear woman in our church, she is in her late 70’s, and years ago her son was murdered in front of her home. She testifies today that she found her own peace only through forgiveness. She went to the prison and forgave the young man who murdered her son. Today she is a beautiful and loving person because she did not allow bitterness to destroy her future.
Whatever you are going through today, I pray that you can experience the true peace of God that she did and move on with your life through forgiveness. God will help you and the good thing is you just ask him.
My prayer,
“Father in heaven, I pray for the one who is reading this and is hurting from some tragedy or pain in their life. I pray that they can experience your peace and that you will empower them to forgive those who have hurt them allowing them to move on from this point in their life, in Jesus Name I pray, Amen”
