"What we witnessed in the Philippines and Hong Kong will challenge how you think about ministry"

Since Janet and I have returned home, I want to give you an updated report on our three-week ministry trip to the Philippines and Hong Kong. What we witnessed was nothing short of remarkable, and I believe it holds a powerful challenge for each of us.

PHILIPPINES: FRUITFULNESS AND INCREASE

The joy of visiting the Philippines is always connecting with lifelong friends and partners in the faith. But this year, something was different. We didn't just see faithfulness—we saw explosive growth.

Record-Breaking National Bible Conference

This year's National Bible Conference was larger than the previous years. This growth is the direct result of intentional leadership. Pastors Ian and Charie Sunga (Pastor Sammy and Nomie Mores' daughter and son-in-law), Nolie and Cori Pesiral, and the other senior leaders have been visiting churches throughout the islands, encouraging pastors, and conducting area Bible Conferences.

The outcome? More pastors and delegates came from the provinces than ever before. The vision of WIN, BUILD, SEND is bearing fruit and multiplying as we've never seen.

"One-Third Were Gen Z: What God is Doing in Asia Right Now"

The Gen Z Moment

One of the most exciting parts of the conference came when I called all the Gen Zers to the front. I wasn't prepared for what happened next—about one-third of the entire crowd came forward. One-third! This Image is the anniversary of a Fellowship GEN-Z Church, "Innovation Youth Generation." Pastors Paul Timothy and Mary Ann Articulo are young pastors who are proving that Gen-Z is ripe for REVIVAL.  They are reaching out to universities all over Greater Manila.  They are discipling Gen-Zers to lead.  â€‹

HONG KONG: MINISTRY DURING CHINESE NEW YEAR

After the Philippines, we headed to Hong Kong for a weekend of ministry. We knew it was Chinese New Year, so many people would be on holiday. Yet on Sunday morning, the church was filled.

I ministered in the morning service, then they held another service after lunch for the women, where Janet spoke, while I spent time with the men. Pastors John and Valerie Malcolm are doing an excellent job there.

The Next Generation in Hong Kong

John and Valerie now have their daughter, Abby, and son-in-law, Anthony Camazzi, working with them. We are excited that this young couple is now sponsored by Praise Chapel Rancho Cucamonga to serve in Hong Kong. Generational blessing is happening before our eyes.

A POWERFUL ENCOUNTER: LESSONS FROM MAINLAND CHINA

While in Hong Kong, we had the privilege of meeting a remarkable couple from Mainland China who have led a Bible training school since 1985. The brother and I were the same age, born on the same day. What they shared challenged me so much.

Surviving the Cultural Revolution

This couple experienced the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976) firsthand—a decade when all the churches, schools, and major businesses were shut down. The church faced intense persecution. Christians were imprisoned, tortured, and killed for their faith. But then they shared about the great revival that has been ongoing ever since.

The Question That Changed Everything

John Malcolm had asked them a profound question: 'What is the greatest thing that happened in China in your lifetime of ministry?'  Without hesitation, the sister said one word: 'persecution!'  She continued, explaining that persecution led to the revival and the underground church, where millions have been saved. The very thing that was meant to destroy the church became the catalyst for the greatest spiritual awakening in modern history.

THE HARVEST OF THIS GENERATIONS

We are living in the time of the 'Harvest Generation.'

Nations are experiencing a revival beyond imagination. Nations are experiencing a revival beyond imagination. Iran today is suffering heavy persecution, especially the church. Yet the church is growing underground there faster than ever in history. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord raises up a standard. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord raises up a standard.

The question this Chinese couple's testimony poses to us is uncomfortable but necessary: Have we become so comfortable in our freedom that we've lost the desperation that fuels revival?

They didn't pray for comfort; they prayed for boldness in the face of persecution. They didn't ask for ease—they asked for the power to endure. And God answered with a harvest that continues to this day.

WHAT'S AHEAD: PRAISE CHAPEL GLOBAL NETWORK IN 2026
Praise Chapel Global Network is committed to world evangelism. The work continues:

  • May: Janet will return to Asia for ministry meetings. Paul and I will be in Kurdistan, Iraq. I will also minister in South Africa.

  • Throughout 2026: Praise Chapel pastors will be preaching in Ghana, Kenya, Egypt, Liberia, Mexico, and other countries around the world.

  • Monthly Prayer Rallies: We are hosting prayer gatherings throughout Praise Chapel where we come together to intercede for a fresh outpouring of God—the revival He has promised in Acts 2:17.

THE CHALLENGE

Here's what I want you to take away from this report:

1. The harvest is happening. In the Philippines, in China, in Iran, in nations you may never visit—God is moving. The question is: Will we position ourselves to be part of it?

2. Persecution produces revival. We may not face the same persecution as our brothers and sisters in China or Iran, but we must have the same desperation. Comfort is the enemy of urgency.

3. The next generation is ready. One-third of the conference in the Philippines was Gen Z. Your church has young people ready to carry this vision. Are you equipping them? Are you releasing them?

4. We must pray like we mean it. Join us at the monthly Prayer Rallies. Pray for the nations. Pray for boldness. Pray for a fresh outpouring. This is not optional—this is the work of God.

Thank you for your faithful partnership in world evangelism through the vision of WIN, BUILD, SEND. You are part of a global movement that is changing nations.

The fields are white for harvest. Let's finish strong.

Until Jesus returns,
