“From the moment John stepped onto the scene until now, the realm of heaven’s kingdom is bursting forth, and passionate people have taken hold of its power” (Matthew 11:12 TPT). To the First Church pressing the message of repentance and salvation forward through persecution and martyrdom, the kingdom of God thrives in this fallen world.
On the Cross, Jesus said,
“Father forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing.” This was the prophesied beginning of a new “light” coming into the world. A new “message” that would fill the earth. A new “people” who would live as citizens of a, “new kingdom”. These people would bring a new culture into the world, fighting back against the darkness.
Today in all areas of the world, the passionate people called the “church” are continuing to “step onto the scene and the realm of heaven’s kingdom is bursting forth.”
Jesus was a culture changer.
“The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out”John 1:5, MSG.
When Jesus told his disciples, “You are the light of the world and the salt of the earth” he was revealing that his followers would infiltrate, combat and ultimately change the cultures of the world.
As we look at the cultures and sub-cultures we are living alongside today, we see that the church has always, will aways and is today – changing the cultures we live in.
We are changing and redeeming culture.
When one soul is set free from the hold of sin. When one is redeemed from gangs, drugs, violence, depression or despair. When one baby is saved from abortion. One person is freed from human trafficking. When one life is changed.
“The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood” (John 1:14 MSG).
There is no withdrawing from culture. Culture is inescapable. Every church, in every place, though out every generation has lived and thrived in the fallen culture of this world.
We are called of God and placed by God in our communities to bring Cultural Transformation.
We are having a conference on, “CULTURE, Transforming our World.“ Each one of us are here to change the world through the power, message and lifestyle of Jesus Christ. Let’ s join together, July 23-26, 2018 and be empowered together for the Supernatural power of God to minister to our CULTURE.
