This is the 2nd message on Truth or Error. It is easy to SHOUT God is Good all the time until something bad happens. Then what do you say? God is good, some of the time? Do not listen to the LIE of the DEVIL.

1. Know that, God is a GOOD FATHER
Matthew 7:11, If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
Psalm 34:8, “Taste and see that the Lord is good”
Psalm 27:13, “I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”
Psalm 33:4-5, “For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord”
Nahum 1:7, The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows those who take refuge in Him.
Psalm 103:1-5 NIV, “Praise the Lord, my soul… and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
2. Always REMEMBER who the ENEMY IS.
John 10:10-11 NKJV, The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
What kind of SHEPHERD? GOOD! GOOD! GOOD!
THIEF = loss, death, and destruction
JESUS = abundant life.
1 John 3:8 ESV, The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
3. Recognize Danger of listening to the Devil’s lies.
The devil shoots thousands lies at you every day. A lie is the most powerful weapon that he has. You will hear God is good -- BUT! God is punishing you or God is teaching you a lesson. God is testing you through this cancer, sickness, lost job, Pandemic.
If I were to do to my children what the LIE of the Devil gets many people think God does to His children, I’d be arrested for child abuse.
How can I pray in faith for healing if I believe God made me sick?
How can I pray for prosperity or a good jobif I believe my Father wants me broke?
How can I pray for Peace of mind, believe God is allowing this anxiety?
James 1:17, Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
4. Keep Focused on what Jesus Did and Said.
John 14:9, Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Jesus continually proclaimed that the Heavenly Father is good.
Jesus shows a God who is altogether good.
Who is always seeking for our good.
5. Understanding God’s Goodness should Motivate us to Tell Others.
Pastors tell the church, “God is good.”
Church tells each other “God is good.”
Kid’s church tells the kids’ God is Good.”
The church teens tell church teens “God is good,.”
Who is telling the WORLD?
Who is telling the LOST? Unchurched?
Who is telling the Sick? Homeless?
This is not about the church patting each other on the back and saying, “God is good brother or sister.”
Psalm 73:1-5 MSG, No doubt about it! God is good— good to good people, good to the good-hearted. But I nearly missed it, missed seeing his goodness. I was looking the other way, looking up to the people At the top, envying the wicked who have it made, Who have nothing to worry about, not a care in the whole wide world.
Don’t miss it! Don’t let serpent lie to you!
Change your life….
You can face TRAGEDY and STILL SAY: “God is good to me.”
