Monday Morning Club

To: Club Readers

September 27, 2021

Happy Monday Morning.

“Though my beginnings was small, my latter days will be very great.” (Based on: Job 8:7)

Doesn't that sound good. With God it does not matter what your "beginnings" was like. What counts is today. Your faith in God, and your faithfulness to his purposes in your life. Here is a personal prayer based upon Ephesians 3:16-21.

"I pray that you would grant me, according to the riches of your glory, to be strengthened with might through your Spirit in my inner person. That Christ may dwell in my heart through faith; that I will be be rooted and grounded in love, to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-- to know your love which passes knowledge; that I may be filled with all of your fullness. Now to you my Father who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or think, according to the power that works in me, to you be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!” (John7:37 Jesus)

I receive a very “assertive” text from my daughter: “Mom. You’re dehydrated. You need to drink 100 ounces of water for the next 7 days. Please comply.”

I call her back because…well, I’m over 60 and my generation believes in voice communications when it comes to serious conversations. Once she explained her reasons for putting me on such an astringent water assignment, I was compliant! Ha! Actually, her motivation was love and concern for my physical well-being. How blessed am !

Dehydration is unhealthy.

It can disrupt our entire physical function including brain activity. But it is so easy to get busy and go through my day without stopping to drink water. Not bright.

What a convicting reminder of how much more we need to regularly drink from that “well of living water”. When Jesus had the dialogue with the woman at the well, he knew that her life was severely dehydrated. There was a deep thirst in her that only He could fill. All she had to do was drink. Jesus said, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me" (John7:37).

If you are Christ’s, then you have access to that water 24/7, but often we simply neglect to drink. Are you dry? Foggy? Confused and weak? Stop what you are doing and rehydrate! Now!

Here goes another jewel from my files of Dr. John Holland.

Bill was a Rabble-Rouser

Dr. John Holland

Last week we read about Dr. Holland's Grandpa. How he honored God at the funeral of his beloved wife of over 70 years. Today Dr. Holland continues the story of what happened that night and the next day.

I had a strange, but powerful inner witness from the Holy Spirit directing me to go to Grandpa and Grammie’s little humble home. Grandpa moved into the home of one of his sons the old home was to be sold. Yet, a witness strong and true echoed in my spirit, “Go to the old home.” Rather reluctantly, I did so and found it dark as I supposed it would be.

Pastor Woody Calvary

Janet and I join with all Praise Chapel Fellowship in grief over the passing of our dear friend and partner in the faith, Pastor Woody Calvary. Our love goes out to Sister Apples and all the Calvary family. Pastor Woody was a mighty leader in our Family of Fellowships from the very beginning. I believe multitudes of precious souls who were saved through his life and testimony greeted him last night in heaven. May God’s blessing and peace be upon Sister Apples and all of his loved ones and friends.

We will all miss you, dear friend.

Pastor Arnold and Josie Espinosa

In One: The Power to Change Your World, Carl shares the amazing story of how God got a hold of a young entrepreneur and redirected his focus from monetary gain to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He tells how he let go of the world’s idea of success to embrace a radical vision God had placed in his heart, simply stated as win one, build one, release one to win our world for Jesus Christ.
